membership Recruitment 

​FCCLA membership is available to students in grades 7-12 who are currently or have previously been enrolled in a Family and Consumer Science class. Chapter dues are $20 and can be paid in Mrs. Wilson's classroom. Once a membership form has been completed and dues are paid, you will be an official affiliated member! Why would you want to? Because it's a great way to make new friends, develop leadership skills, travel and attend conferences, participate in competitive events, develop real world skills, explore career pathways, and have FUN!

Chapter Recruitment Activities:  ​
  • FCCLA Member Information Center: The FCCLA bulletin board and information center is located on the wall right outside of Mrs. Wilson's classroom. Stop by and stay up to date on membership, meetings and upcoming events.
  • Locker Tags: Once you're affiliated, you'll receive your very own laminated FCCLA locker tag! 
  • Social Media: In addition to Facebook page and Instagram, we also created a TikTok account. Follow us to see what we do as a chapter and in the family and consumer science classroom!
  • Classroom Lessons & Activities: In an effort to incorporate FCCLA into the classroom, all FACS classes spend an entire week learning about FCCLA. Students complete the National FCCLA Step 1 WebQuest, poster projects, and more. 
  • CHS Open House: Spend time with the officer team to learn more about FCCLA, what we do, and what to expect!
  • Annual Kickoff Meeting: This meeting is open to anyone interested in joining. ​

Ways to make the most of your FCCLA Experience:
  • Attend monthly meetings
  • Volunteer to serve on a committee
  • Compete! You'll have the opportunity to compete at the Regional, State, and National levels
  • Participate in the monthly fundraisers and community service projects
  • Run for a chapter officer position


​membership Recognition

Recognition provides an opportunity to show our members how much their hard work is appreciated. Our members and local chapter are recognized in a variety of ways.

Chapter Recognition Activities:
  • Social Media, The Grand Prairie Herald Newspaper, Weekly Call Outs by Superintendent, Morning Announcements
  • Member of the Month: Students who’ve contributed to our FCCLA chapter get a little treat and shout out!
  • End of Year Celebration: An event to recognize the outgoing officer team, STAR Events competitors, FACS completers, national program completers, and students who received certifications.
  • CHS Graduation Day: Seniors are recognized with chords to show that they are a completer in FACS courses. 
  • Region, State, National Conferences: Members are recognized for competitive events and receive certificates and medals.
