meet mrs. wilson

Mrs. Wilson began teaching Family & Consumer Sciences (FACS) at Carlisle High School in 2020. In addition to teaching, she also serves as the FCCLA Adviser. Her responsibilities include supervising local chapter officers, members, and activities; creating and maintaining the chapter budget; overseeing fundraisers; and preparing students for competitive events.

Mrs. Wilson completed her Bachelor's (2004) and Master's Degree (2006) in Human Environmental Science at the University of Arkansas at Fayetteville. Prior to transitioning to teaching, she was a Family & Consumer Sciences Educator for the University of Arkansas Division of Agriculture Cooperative Extension Service.

Mrs. Wilson lives on a row crop farm with her husband Brandon, daughter Greenlee, son Thatcher, and their Australian Shepard Pearl. When she's not teaching life skills or advising FCCLA, she enjoys cooking, practicing yoga, reading, fishing, and traveling.

Family & Consumer Science education has never been more relevant than it is today. I believe the foundation of our society is responsible, community-minded adults who are able to support themselves financially,  communicate well, and have positive relationships and loving families. There's a demand for family and consumer science professionals to serve in educator positions in secondary educaiton, higher education, and Extension education. If you are looking for a rewarding career path that can truly help make a difference in people's lives, I challenge you to say Yes to FCS!

family & consumer science courses

fccla in the family & Consumer Sciences PRogram

FCCLA is an integral part of family and consumer science education and an essential component in a complete FACS program. An active FCCLA chapter not only benefits students, but also the entire school and community.

By actively participating in local chapters, competitive events, and National Programs, FCCLA members learn critical skills needed for college and future careers including leadership, communication, responsibility, decision making, problem solving, resource management and positive relationships.
